TechCERT’s Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Kushan Sharma as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Mr. Dileepa Lathsara, who is concluding his tenure as CEO after more than eight years of leadership and over 18 years of dedicated service. Mr. Lathsara has been pivotal in establishing the company’s market-leading position and cultivating an enviable reputation in a highly competitive industry.
Mr. Sharma, who joined TechCERT in 2009 and has served as Chief Operating Officer, brings more than 15 years of expertise as a Senior Information Security Engineer, Manager, and Consultant. He has consistently demonstrated technical excellence and a results-oriented approach across diverse sectors. He possesses comprehensive expertise in cybersecurity strategy, network and cloud security configuration, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, SWIFT framework evaluations, and web/mobile as well as operating systems security assessments. He is also skilled in IT risk assessments, security policy reviews, ISO 27001 implementation, ISMS auditing, cybersecurity drills, and other security trainings. In addition to his technical prowess, he is a dynamic leader who cultivates a culture of innovation and accountability, consistently driving his teams to excel in challenging security environments.
Formed in 2006 as a pioneering project of the LK Domain Registry and its academic partners, TechCERT was established to provide a safety net for organizations facing cyber-attacks and emergencies. It later evolved into an independent Limited by Guarantee Company in 2016. Today, TechCERT serves a broad clientele—including leading banks, financial institutions, telecoms, ISPs, and various other sectors—by delivering customized managed security services that integrate advanced IT security technologies across enterprise infrastructures. The organization further strengthens its capabilities through collaborative partnerships with key national and global information security groups such as APCERT, FIRST, and APWG, ensuring access to the latest threat data and multinational support for handling cyber incidents.
